A Holiday Recap

This is my first post (of many) in 2018! Happy New Year everyone! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday season surrounded by loved ones! Our family had a wonderful and quiet Christmas filled with love, cuddles, and of course, presents! New Year's eve was very uneventful which is just the way we like it. Going out to a crowded bar and spending money just isn't our cup of tea. We like to snuggle up on the couch at home and ring in the new year just the two of us. I wanted to post a quick recap of how we spent the holidays.

This year was Grace's first Christmas which was so so special to me and Christmas 2017 will always hold an extra special place in my heart. I tried my very best to soak in every moment with her this holiday season. One thing I wish I would've done was get some professional holiday photos done of her but there is always next year! We were missing our sweet Julia this Christmas. Another instance where our unique family dynamic comes into play. Since she lives with us only some of the time and with her grandparents the rest she was in Vermont to spend the holidays there. We missed her terribly but Santa made sure to spoil her with gifts for her return!

My husband got me some kick ass gifts this year. Now I know Christmas is about family time and not material things but who doesn't love some good presents? He got me some beautiful Pandora beads that each contain the birthstones of Grace and Julia. I can't even explain to you how special to me gifts like those are. Anything to do with my kids I go crazy for. I am an extremely sentimental mom (like most) and if it reminds me of my girls there is no doubt I'll fall in love with it. My sweet husband also got me a brand new laptop. (I'm using it to write this post) He knows how important this new blog adventure is to me and he has been so supportive of my decision to start East Coast Mom. I was using his older laptop that definitely got the job done. I was just grateful to have something to use for the blog. Well, Michael thought I deserved something a bit better for this adventure and he got me this sparkling and wonderful laptop. I consider myself so special to receive his love. I thank my lucky stars every day that he chose me!

This year we got to spend so much family time together. Usually I have to work like a crazy person during the holidays but because of my change in jobs I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a lot of time at home with Grace and Michael. I am so thankful for that especially this year. I would be lying if I said this hasn't been one of my favorite holidays yet. The only thing we were missing was Julia and if she had been here Christmas would've been nothing short of perfect.

I am so blessed.

See you soon, E
